Diploma in Film and Television Management, Producer, Managing Director
Eva-Marie Martens began her career as a pharmacy assistant and joined the German television network in 1966. Here she worked as a production manager and studied film management at the HFF “Konrad Wolf” in Potsdam Babelsberg. From 1975 she worked as Production manager for international co-productions, series and single films. In 1992 she founded Mafilm GmbH together with Lothar Bellag and Alexander Martens, and has been its managing director ever since. As a producer she develops film projects for cinema and television. In 2012 she received the German Film Award in bronze for “Kriegerin” by David Wnendt.
Film Agent, Producer, Managing Director
Alexander Martens learned the profession of a film businessman in the late eighties at the German Television Broadcasting Company in the field of serious music. After a few productions as first production manager, he founded Mafilm GmbH in 1992 with Eva-Marie Martens and Lothar Bellag. Here, he is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management and supervised numerous productions as production manager. In 1998, he acquired the trainer license from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for 2 training professions and since then has supervised 10 trainees and retrainees. Alexander develops international formats and documentaries and is responsible for the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Diploma in Film and Television Economics, Production Manager
Susan Engnath joined the company as a volunteer in 2003. During her studies at the HFF “Konrad Wolf” in Potsdam Babelsberg, she continued to supervise Mafilm projects, especially feature films and television films. After her studies she also worked for other film companies, but always came back to Mafilm. Since 2013 she is co-owner of the company. In 2020 she and her Real-Film team were awarded the Fair Award.
