Twenty four seniors experience within twenty four hours something they haven’t ever dreamt of.
They break out of their daily routine and hijack an airplane to lead it to the place of their longing: The Mediterranean Sea.

Annegret Simon, the new entrant to the nursing home, attracts the attention of Mr. von Tiedgen.
How can it be that a strong, proud woman like her becomes suddenly so discouraged?
He wants to show Annegret of what is possible in the last period of life, so he decides on a day trip to hijack with his inmates a propeller-driven aircraft. They fondly hope to gain publicity for their ailing business and public respect for their alleged courage. Not even twelve hours later after they have left the nursing home, these twenty four old people are standing in a barren greek countryside and splash around like kids, playing with their feet in the water. The journey is over, so is life – but it was worthwhile! Tiedgen fulfilled an immemorial desire; Fanny played the role of her life; Hanni steps out of her sister’s shadow and finnaly learned what love is; Stronz won’t leave her until his days are over. Sister Amelie understood what life, desire, luck and sorrow is. They look towards the Sea – but they can’t disengage this consummate beauty – so as would “be it”
